Roller chain is mainly composed of five parts: inner link plate, outer link plate, pin, sleeve and roller. Composition structure of roller chain: The outer link plate and the pin, the inner link plate and the sleeve are connected by interference fits, respectively.
The clearance between the sleeve and the pin, the sleeve and the roller is matched. When the teeth of the sprocket and the chain mesh, the friction between the roller and the gear is basically rolling friction. There is sliding friction between the sleeve and the roller, the pin and the sleeve. Roller chain link plate is generally made in figure 8 shape, so that the strength of each section is close, reducing inertia and weight during movement.
Compared with belt drive, roller chain drive has the advantages of compact structure, small load on the shaft, large load capacity, high efficiency, and can maintain accurate average transmission ratio.
